Winterthur is the former American country estate of Henry Francis du Pont, an avid antiques collector and horticulturist. This 1,000-acre landscape features rolling hills, streams, meadows, and forests, one of which is said to be enchanted (for the kids). Visitors are sure to find something new in bloom every time they visit.

Gardeners will especially love the Brown Horticulture Learning Center, which opened in October of 2012. This 1920s greenhouse was renovated at a cost of $1 million to provide greater opportunities for public access.
