Wilmington Youth Rowing Association
500 East Front Street
Wilmington, DE 19801
The Wilmington Youth Rowing Association teaches the sport of rowing to area youngsters, ages 10 through high school. This nonprofit uses the team sport of crew as a vehicle to raise self-esteem and teach responsibility, self-discipline, and sportsmanship. The group takes special pride in its inner-city youth, many of whom are deemed to be "at risk" because of the neighborhoods in which they reside.
The Wilmington Youth Rowing Association is nationally reknowned for its Row For It program, a two-week introduction to rowing during June and July. Incidentally, its facility is located directly next door to the creators of this website, the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary.
