Iron Hill County Park offers hiking trails, a playground, and 335 acres of open space. New additions include two fenced-in dog areas and a free disc-golf course, but this isn't just any disc-golf course. At 10,000 feet, it's among the longest and toughest in the world. Players often walk up to three miles to complete its 18 holes, so bring some water and comfortable hiking shoes. This can be a challenge for some players, but fortunately tees have been added for those accustomed to shorter courses. These are silver in color, as opposed to gold. Preview this course now at DEDiscGolf.com.

While at Iron Hill County Park, consider visiting Iron Hill Museum or Cooch's Bridge nearby. The latter is the site of Delaware's only Revolutionary War engagement. This represents the first time the stars and stripes appeared in battle.

Please also pick up after your dog. Doing so prevents bacteria from washing into the nearby Christina River, a source of drinking water for over half a million people.
