Blackbird Creek Reserve contains almost 1,200 acres bordering the tidal Blackbird Creek. This includes several miles of walking trails. One even offers an excellent place to launch a canoe or kayak, but please be advised: This landing is located about 100 yards from the parking lot, and it is only accessible on foot.
Visitors will be happy to know that this destination has well-marked trails, a posted map, a picnic table, and a port-o-potty.
The Blackbird Creek Reserve is one part of the larger Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve. This means that group activities often take place here, like the annual Blackbird Creek Fall Festival. Please visit http://1.usa.gov/XU6JOm for more details.
